Bored with Newton-Raphson? Get a fix on a different method of solution of equations. To find the square root of 2049 firstly plot the graph of

y(t)=t^2-2049 for 40<=t<50

We can rearrange the equation 0=t^2-2049 to get the equation t=40+449/(40+t) giving the fix point function

fix(t)=40+449/(40+t)

Now use this function to find the square root of 2049.
