Look at a few graphs of even functions e.g. y=|t|
(use |t|=(t*t)^0.5), y=cos(t), y=t^2, y=t^4, y=cosh(t) (use cosh(t)=0.5*(e^t+e^(-1*t)) and analyse the symmetry of the derivative. Write down the Maclaurin series for a general, even function defined around t=0 and use this to justify your conclusion.
