Did you realise that you can use plotXpose to find the values of t which give the local maxima and minima of a function?
- Think of a continuous function
- Differentiate the function yourself
- Enter the derivative function as y(t) under 'Setup General Function'
- Use the zero finding facility to find the value of t at the turning points of your original function.
- From the graph of the derivative you can also immediately classify the stationary points as local maxima, minima or points of inflexion.
